Description: Microcrystalline cellulose is a product of chemical destruction of cellulose with a high degree of purity. Used as a texturizer, anti-caking agent, fat substitute, emulsifier and filler in food production. The most common form of use is the production of tablets. It is also used in the analysis of plaques to count viruses, as an alternative to carboxymethyl cellulose. Index E460.
Functions: Accel-101- is most widely used for direct tabletting and wet granulation.
Accel-102 has similar compression properties with Accel-101. However, it has a larger particle size and, therefore, better fluidity for fine powders.
Accel-103, Accel-112 and Accel-113 have a low moisture content and are ideal for use with moisture-sensitive materials.
Accel-105 has a better particle size and can be used in direct compression from coarse, granular and crystalline materials, improved compressibility characteristics ideally suited for use with difficult-pressed materials. It can be mixed with Accel-101 or Accel-102.
Accel-200 has a large particle size that provides increased flow capacity with minimal impact on compression characteristics. It can be used in direct pressing and wet granulation.
Accel-301 has a higher density, providing increased flow capacity, a more uniform tablet and and the potential for creating small tablets.
Accel-302 has the characteristics of density from Accel-301 with particle size Accel-102. Provides increased flow capacity, more uniform tablet weight and the potential for creating small tablets.
Accel-N is most commonly used for wet granulation.
